Recent Launches From The Lab | March 2020

Our doors may be closed right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate our clients’ work! And thanks to the post process being what it is, there should still be plenty of content to come to keep us smiling until we get back in action.

Looking at this work really does make us smile, hopefully it can make you smile, too!

BELL LET'S TALK | KID. STUDIO

"UNINTERRUPTED profiles three Canadian Olympians and their own battles with mental illness"

INTERVIEWS | SOCIAL CONTENT

In support of this year’s annual Bell Let’s Talk Day, BarDown and Kid. Studio profiled three Canadian athletes: Alysha Newman, Lanni Marchant and Andre De Grasse.

Like anything they produce, there’s a distinct “Kid. Studio” vibe to these pieces, and we find ourselves being sucked into each story right away.

You almost feel what these athletes felt as you hear their stories.

Watch below!

CANADA GOOSE | MAKERS TO

Project Atigi x Polar Bears International

MOTION AND STILLS | SOCIAL | WEB CONTENT | E-COMM

Makers TO came through The Lab with Canada Goose on two separate occasions to close out 2019.

First, they created a ton of content in support of Project Atigi, a celebration of Inuit design and heritage.

Next up was a project for the jacket maker’s partnership with Polar Bears International, a campaign from Canada Goose that aims to raise awareness around the threats that face wild polar bears.

They also produced a ton of other content to support CG’s marketing efforts across a number of SKUs and campaigns.

Here are some highlights of the content that came from these two shoots!

WORKIN' MOMS

"Season 4 Promo"

TV SERIES | SOCIAL PROMO

In addition to hosting their S4 Gallery shoot, we were lucky enough to have the Workin’ Moms family at the studio on multiple occasions for their new season.

This particular time, they hosted a press day, inviting major entertainment media to The Lab to meet with the stars and talk all things Season 4. The team also captured some of their own content for social, including these fun interviews with the cast.

Thank you, Workin’ Moms, for letting us play a tiny role in your amazing show!

NIKKI YANOFSKY | THE FIELD INC.

"Forget"

MUSIC VIDEO

The Field Inc. and Nikki Yanofsky graced The Lab once again, this time to revive some of the biggest memes of our time. To support the release of her single “Forget“, Nikki got into character to recreate classic memes, including Rick Roll, Sexy Sax Man and Ermagherd Berks. She absolutely kills each different character and it’s impossible to watch and not smile.

Keen observers might notice that the opening scene to this video was shot in our boardroom (turned edit suite, turned green room). The art team dressed it up to be a label boss’s office, complete with real gold records on the walls!

SHOPCOAT | MARCH MERCANTI

Fashion x Film

Filmmaker March Mercanti is no stranger to The Lab. He has previously created here for a CBC Arts feature he produced on artist Jay Dart (we highly recommend watching it, see here).

His work has a very distinct style that emphasizes the subject, or content being presented. It’s quirky in the best of ways. Rather impressively, he’s been able to turn grip stands and flags into art, as per his latest work for vintage secondhand fashion retailer @shopcoat, seen here:
