Between renovations to convert Studio 1 and Studio 2 into one bigger 3,800 SF Soundstage and hosting some amazing projects, it’s been a crazy past few months. We know it’s been tough for many creators out there so we’re infinitely grateful to still have the opportunity to work with some out-of-this-world talents.
This shoot had one of the craziest camera rigs we’ve ever seen! With a location in downtown Toronto, Monography is North America’s first self-portrait photo studio. Junkie Studio‘s own Johan Kim and Mikie Jae led this project to kick off Monography’s 2023 rebrand. Fun fact: This promo shoot was one of the last to ever film in Studio 2 (we’ll miss you to the moon and back).
Supporting local artists and Toronto basketball? You love to see it!
Sportsnet and Globl Jam are no strangers to The Lab. The duo shot at our Leslieville Studio for last year’s edition of Globl Jam, an international basketball showcase that takes place in Toronto. This project links Canada’s lively basketball culture with the local music scene by featuring rising Canadian stars.
Produced by Sportsnet and the talented Sheldon Alexander, these hype videos are played during game stoppages in arenas and on-screen for at-home viewers.
1. ROCHESTER - "MY WORLD"
Rochester has been seeing a ton of success recently, including having his track Light The City Up featured in Sony Picture’s Blockbuster hit, Across the Spiderverse. For this year’s edition of Globl Jam, Rochester showcased his song “My World”.
2. E.M. LOURDE - "BERSERK"
“Music is all about communication”: The Toronto-based hip-hop producer and musician was back at The Lab shooting his music video for “Berserk.” Berserk is all about coming together as a team and community. We love his style and deep, thought-provoking writing, and loved having him back with the Sportsnet team.
Alongside E.M. Lourde, Beals L.E.S featured in the 2022 edition of Globl Jam. His vintage hip-hop sound tied with storytelling earned him a spotlight in this Sportsnet campaign. Make sure to check out his Spotify!
New to the Globl Jam x Sportsnet roster, Tara Lord is a hip-hop artist from Toronto. Tara brought the energy and performed her track “Winning” featuring backup dancers and a DJ in studio. You can learn more about her story here!
TA'ALU NITABBIL (LET'S DRUM) - RITESH DAS FT. MARYEM TOLLAR & MANIK KHAN

Das and the TTE have appeared on CBC, Much Music and performed at numerous music festivals around the world. He’s even been nominated for a Juno Award!
"ALIEN" - KENDRUH
POST OFFICE CREATIVE
There’s no doubt that this project is exciting to aliens!
We were lucky enough to host Canadian singer-songwriter Kendruh and Post Office Creative at The Lab. Post Office Creative is a creative agency and full-service production company. Known for her dynamic visuals and edgy songwriting, it’s no wonder Kendruh’s music video for “Alien” has already reached over 150,000 views on YouTube.
We love hosting people who are passionate about something.

Produced by Pomp and Circumstance and Bonus Track, this campaign highlights some avid collectors. Card collectors passionately explain why the “ONE Card” in their collection stands out from the rest.
