This is AstroLab Studios’ Mission Control Centre (AS – MCC) with an important update for the people of Planet Earth. Launch preparations (unofficially being dubbed “Astrollo 13”), are nearing completion, and we will be all systems go as of Friday, September 28, 2018.

The mission, which was announced back in July, will see some big improvements at The Lab, including: increasing the size of Studio 2, adding client lounge/kitchen space dedicated to Studio 2, and majorly improving acoustics (SPOILER ALERT: it’s sounding tight!).

Studio 1 is already complete and filling up with people ready to take-off. Below you can find a full update of where we are, as of press time, with our mission launch preparedness! Read on for the full update, and stay tuned for official word from us once we’ve launched!

Thanks for all the love and support during this important time for The Lab!

Update as of September 24, 2018:

First of all, here’s a look at Studio 2 & 3 becoming one. Oooh, destruction!

And an up-to-date look at Studio 2

Look at that double cove!

Acoustic treatments. LAYERS UPON LAYERS of acoustic materials have and are being added!! On top of our existing wall that separates Studios 1 and 2 (existing wall was comprised of: 1 layer of 5/8″ drywall, 1 layer of 1/2″ dry wall, a layer of resilient channel and soundproof insulation), we are adding, in this order: a layer of 5/8″ drywall, a layer of Reflexor, a layer of 1/2″ drywall, another layer of Reflexor, two layers of Johns Manville 1″ Foam Insulation. Needless to say, it is sounding amazing! Your audio technician will thank us.
