Toronto’s demand for studio space has been astronomical in the month since our official launch.
To keep up, we’re expanding our team, and are happy to introduce our newest crew member: Laura Nordin!
Producer by trade, Laura is highly active in the indie scene, with credits on such films as Burning, Burning (Raindance UK) and Cleo (TIFF). She is also co-founder of Filmcoop: A mentorship/resource and production company for professional filmmakers in Toronto. When she’s not making films, she’s in them or directing them, and also finds time to teach the next generation of talent at Armstrong Acting Studios and Ryerson University’s Chang School of Continuing Education.
We sat down with Laura on her first day. Here’s what we learned about her:
She once went hang gliding in the Alps, so she’s probably (okay, definitely) not afraid of adventure
Her Netflixing currently consists of ALL THE COMEDY SPECIALS
She makes a grilled cheese that would turn Gordon Ramsey into a sweet, innocent child
If she were a Crayon, she’d be Turquoise. She’s basically a gem, is what she’s trying to say
Her superhero power is flying. Or it would be, if she were a superhero (she is a hero to us)
Fave film of all-time? Cinema Paradiso
Laura joins the AstroLab crew as Flight Activities Officer (AKA Assistant Production Coordinator), and will be responsible for ensuring our clients enjoy smooth and safe travels with us. She will bring her wealth of production knowledge to clients both before (assisting with coordination) and during their shoots.
